Legal
Privacy.
A deliberately small data footprint for an information-only publication.
Overview
What this policy covers.
This policy explains how Elvari Scope handles information when you visit elvariscope.com or contact the newsroom. The site publishes information only. It does not create gambling accounts, take payments, accept deposits or process gambling activity.
We aim to collect no more personal information than is reasonably needed to operate the publication, keep it secure and respond to correspondence.
Browser storage
One session preference.
When you confirm that you are 18 or older, the site stores the value elvariscope-age-confirmed in browser session storage. It prevents the age notice from reappearing on every page during that browser session. It is removed when the session ends according to your browser’s behaviour.
The production build does not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or cross-site tracking identifiers. If this changes, this policy and any consent controls will be updated before the new processing begins.
Technical data
Server and security logs.
Our hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, user-agent string and referring page. This data is used to deliver the site, investigate faults, prevent abuse and maintain security.
Retention depends on operational and security needs. We seek to keep routine logs only as long as reasonably necessary, unless a longer period is required to investigate an incident or meet a legal obligation.
Correspondence
When you email us.
We receive the address, name and message content you choose to provide, plus normal email metadata. We use it to respond, evaluate tips, process corrections, manage press material or handle privacy requests.
Do not send highly sensitive personal information unless it is essential. Source confidentiality should be discussed before sending confidential documents. Email is not guaranteed to be secure.
Sharing & links
Limited disclosure.
We may share information with hosting, email, security or professional-service providers only where reasonably required for those services, or where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Articles link to external sources. Those sites operate under their own privacy practices. A link does not allow the external site to receive information until you choose to follow it.
Your choices
Access, correction and questions.
You may ask what personal information we hold about you and request correction where applicable, subject to lawful exceptions. You may also ask us to delete correspondence that is no longer needed, although legal, security or editorial-record considerations may require retention.
Contact [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the relevant interaction, but do not send identity documents until we explain whether they are necessary and how they will be handled.
